Blepharoplasty
Eyelid surgery, also known as blepharoplasty, involves removing excess fat and skin from both your upper and lower eyelids to provide a more youthful, rested appearance to your face. As we age, the fat found around our eye begins to bulge outward. This, along with lax skin, results in the baggy, swollen appearance that can be associated with aging. Our doctors believe the eyes are the “windows into the soul.” They perform both upper and lower blepharoplasty as well as revision surgery using the latest techniques to avoid any external scaring and maintain or recreate your natural, youthful appearance. This procedure corrects the bags and black circles that can accompany the excess skin and fat. Often this procedure is combined with either laser therapy or skin peels to help in tightening the skin of the lower or upper eyelid. Sometimes a browlift is performed to help lift the upper eyelids to their more youthful position. Your surgery will personalized to your needs and discussed in detail at your consultation.
“I just wanted to thank you for making me look younger. I feel so much better about myself. Looking forward to seeing you and your staff in the near future. – I.W.
Your procedure will be done as an outpatient. You will go home the same day after your surgery. The surgery can often be done under light sedation. Healing typically takes 4-5 days, but minimal swelling can still remain for another week or so. We will see you in the office the day after surgery and a week after that. At that point we will extend your visits out from there as needed.
Our staff is highly trained and will help guide you through the process.
