Cheek augmentation is a type of procedure that falls into the categories of facial masculinization and feminization.
It’s often performed in conjunction with other procedures including rhinoplasty, brow lift, face lift, and more.
Like several of the other procedures mentioned, cheek augmentation can be accomplished through liposuction and fat grafting or the installation of synthetic implants.
“I had an excellent experience at Rowe Plastic Surgery. The staff were accomodating and informed, making me feel comfortable at every step. I highly recommend the team here!
During the procedure, small and unobtrusive incisions will be made inside the patient’s mouth or within the lower eyelids. This allows implants to be inserted without any visible scarring on the patient’s face. After the incisions are made, your surgeon will create a pocket to contain each cheek implant, insert the implant, and then close the incision. Or, if you’ve opted for fat injection cheek augmentation, the fat taken from elsewhere on your body will be purified and grafted directly into your cheeks. It’s important to note that although this procedure is permanent, future injections may be required to maintain an appearance of fullness.
The finished look will depend on factors including your existing facial bone structure, the surgical method chosen, and your gender-affirming goals.
